Small details. A better day.

Built around what you need.

01

One archive. Or a whole batch.

Drop in your archives or choose them together. Pick a destination and unpack supported ZIP, RAR, 7z, TAR and GZIP files.

02

Make room for the originals.

Extract into separate output folders while keeping the source archives unchanged. Open the output folder when you’re done.

03

A fresh start for your Mac.

The refresh adds native Apple silicon and Intel support, light and dark appearances, progress, cancellation and clearer errors.

Before you get started

Good to know.

Is Extract Any File free?+

Yes. Extraction is free, with no account, subscription or in-app purchase. The refreshed app includes optional recommendations for separate paid Pocket Bits apps. You can dismiss the recommendation, and the app remembers your choice.

Is the new version available?+

Yes. Version 1.2 is on the Mac App Store. It needs macOS 12 or later and runs natively on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

Does it open every archive?+

Support depends on the format, compression method and encryption. Damaged or unsupported archives may not extract. Enter a password when a supported encrypted archive asks for one.

What happens if I cancel?+

Your source archives stay unchanged. Partial extracted output may remain after cancellation or an error. The extraction engine blocks symbolic links, hard links and unsafe archive paths.

How is my data handled?+

Extraction happens locally on your Mac. Read the Extract Any File privacy section for details.
