Utility updates: local preferences and recommendations
This section applies to Sleep Alarm Clock 1.2, Sleep Alarm Clock Pro 1.2, Jolt of Caffeine 1.13, App Uninstaller 1.2 and Extract Any File 1.2. The existing app-specific local-processing explanations continue to apply.
Sleep Alarm Clock, Jolt and Extract Any File check a small, fixed set of Pocket Bits app identifiers locally to avoid recommending apps already installed. These checks do not access purchase history or create a general inventory of installed apps. Their results stay on your Mac. Recommendation-dismissal choices are stored locally. Product links open the App Store or an installed app only when you choose them.
These apps, including Pro and App Uninstaller, store local successful-use counts and review-request timing preferences to avoid interrupting you or repeatedly requesting a review. This usage information is not transmitted to Pocket Bits. Optional rating prompts use Apple's native review system; Apple controls whether they appear and handles submitted ratings and reviews under its own policies. No new analytics, advertising or tracking SDK is included.
Battery Medic for macOS — version 1.2
This section applies to Battery Medic for macOS, version 1.2, and takes precedence over general app-collection statements below where they differ. General website and voluntarily submitted support-contact practices still apply.
Battery Medic reads your Mac’s battery charge, power source, cycle count and available capacity estimates locally. Pocket Bits does not receive your battery readings, alert settings, installed-app check results or app-usage analytics from this version. Preferences and recommendation-dismissal choices are stored on your Mac. The app has no Pocket Bits account, newsletter integration, third-party analytics SDK, advertising SDK or tracking integration.
Optional recommendations check only a fixed set of Pocket Bits app identifiers on your Mac so an already-installed app can be skipped. The app does not create or transmit a general list of your installed apps. Installation detection is not a lookup of your purchase history.
Optional battery alerts use local macOS notifications with your permission. You can change notification permission in System Settings. The optional login setting is managed by macOS when you choose to enable it.
Choosing product links opens Apple’s App Store or an installed Pocket Bits app. Choosing website, support or privacy links may open the Pocket Bits website. Those destinations’ policies apply when you choose to visit them.
If you choose to contact support, we receive the email and information you review and send. The email composer may prepare your app and operating-system versions for your review. We use support correspondence to answer and troubleshoot your request.
Pocket Bits LLC ("us" or "we") is committed to protecting your online privacy. This Privacy Policy discloses the privacy practices for the Pocket Bits LLC apps and website. We encourage you to read this Privacy Policy carefully to learn what information we collect from you and how we use that information.
bitPick: Best Photo Picker for iPhone and iPad (formerly bitTidy)
This section applies to bitPick for iPhone and iPad (formerly bitTidy) and takes precedence over general app-collection statements below where they differ. General website and voluntarily submitted support-contact practices still apply.
bitPick uses the Photos access you grant to find series of similar photos and exact copies, prepare a cleanup plan, and remove only the photos you review and confirm in Apple's Photos dialog. With Limited access, only the photos you select are used. The sample uses illustrations and doesn't read or change your library.
Analysis (photo signatures, sharpness scores and resource fingerprints), selected photo identifiers, plans and session receipts are processed and stored only on your device. There is no Pocket Bits account, no photo upload, and no advertising, analytics or tracking SDK. An on-device App Group shares only a session summary (date, count, size and whether anything is unverified) with the optional widget, without photos or photo identifiers.
bitPick reads only photos stored on the device and doesn't request iCloud downloads. Apple's Photos, iCloud, App Store, purchase and backup services operate under Apple's policies and your settings. Apple processes subscription payments; bitPick checks your subscription with StoreKit and never receives your payment details.
If you email support, Pocket Bits receives what you choose to send and uses it only to answer your request. The app never sends anything automatically. Please don't send private photos, passwords or payment details.
You can change Photos access in Settings. Deleting bitPick removes its local data (subject to Apple's backup behavior) but doesn't cancel a subscription or restore removed photos; recover photos from Photos' Recently Deleted while available. BitPDF for macOS
This section applies to the Mac App Store version of BitPDF and takes precedence over general app-collection statements where they differ.
BitPDF processes PDF documents locally on your Mac. Pocket Bits does not receive your documents, text, signatures, form entries, location, advertising identifiers or app-usage analytics from this version. No BitPDF account, advertising or Pocket Bits analytics SDK is included.
Preferences, file-access bookmarks, saved signatures, recovery snapshots and diagnostic logs are stored locally. Logs can include file names or paths. Local OCR uses bundled recognition models; documents are not sent to an OCR service. Third-party AI/provider tools are not enabled in this release.
Apple handles App Store purchases and optional ratings/reviews under Apple's policies. Website/help links open in your browser. A link or action in a document may ask to open an external destination; you can cancel. General website and support-contact practices still apply.
If you contact support and choose to send files, screenshots or logs, Pocket Bits receives the information you send to answer your request. Local documents and app data remain under your control; separate copies and backups may remain after deletion. To ask about access to or deletion of information voluntarily sent to support, contact support@pocketbitsllc.com.
bitPhoto for macOS
This section applies to the Mac App Store version of bitPhoto and takes precedence over general app-collection statements where they differ.
bitPhoto edits documents locally on your Mac. Pocket Bits does not receive your images, document contents, editing history, location, advertising identifiers or app-usage analytics from this version. No bitPhoto account, advertising or Pocket Bits analytics SDK is included.
Preferences, file-access bookmarks, recovery snapshots and diagnostic logs are stored locally. Logs can include file names or paths. If you contact support and send files, screenshots or logs, Pocket Bits receives the information you send to answer your request.

Third-party online services are outside the verified release workflow. If you separately configure a service offered by the inherited editor, review its terms and privacy policy before sending content.

Extract Any File for Mac — version 1.1
This section applies to Extract Any File for Mac, version 1.1, and takes precedence over general app-collection statements below where they differ. Archive files and extracted content are processed locally on your Mac and are not uploaded to Pocket Bits. The app has no Pocket Bits account, analytics SDK, advertising SDK, newsletter integration or tracking integration. Your archive contents, passwords and extraction activity are not collected by Pocket Bits. Local preferences remember your recommendation-dismissal choice. The app uses macOS file selection to access only the files and destination folders you choose. Passwords entered for extraction are used for that extraction and are not saved by the app.
Optional links open Pocket Bits support/privacy pages or separate paid apps on Apple's App Store. Those destinations' policies apply when you choose to visit them. Voluntarily submitted support messages are handled under our support-contact practices. Removing the app does not remove archives or extracted files you stored elsewhere on your Mac. Copies and system backups may remain under your control.
Sleep Alarm Clock and Pro, Jolt of Caffeine and App Uninstaller for macOS
This section applies to the refreshed Mac App Store versions of Sleep Alarm Clock 1.1, Sleep Alarm Clock Pro 1.1, Jolt of Caffeine 1.12 and App Uninstaller 1.1. It takes precedence over general app-collection statements below where they differ.
The apps perform their core functions locally on your Mac. Alarm schedules and sounds, Jolt settings and battery state, and App Uninstaller's detected apps, file paths and sizes are not uploaded to Pocket Bits. These versions have no app account, newsletter signup, third-party advertising SDK or app-usage analytics SDK.
The apps may request Pocket Bits app recommendations, configuration and artwork over HTTPS. Our servers process the network information needed to respond to those requests; request and IP logs for these endpoints are not retained.
Recommendation links open the App Store and may include a static campaign identifying the referring Pocket Bits app. The apps do not append a unique person or device identifier to those links. Apple handles App Store purchases, ratings and reviews under its own policies.
Support actions open your email application. If you choose to send an email, Pocket Bits receives the information you send to answer your request. A draft may include the app and operating-system version. You control whether to send it and what information to include.
Preferences, alarm data, authorized file-access bookmarks and app caches are stored locally. Local data remains under your control; separate copies or backups may remain after deletion. Information We Collect
We collect personally identifiable information ("personal information") and non-personally identifiable information ("non-personal information").
Personal information is information that identifies a specific user. When you engage in certain activities on our App or Site — such as opening an account, submitting or posting content, or entering a contest — we may ask you to provide certain personal information, such as your name and email address. If you do not provide required information, you may not be allowed to engage in that activity.
Non-personal information does not identify a specific user and may include things like the URL of websites you visited before and after coming to our Site, and your IP address. We and our authorized third-party service providers may automatically collect this information when you visit our Site.
We collect certain information from your mobile device, including but not limited to:
- Location Information that allows us to periodically determine your location, including your location relative to and within third-party merchant locations.
- Device and Usage Information including (i) information specific to your mobile device (make, model, OS, advertising identifier); (ii) information about your use of features, functions, or notifications on the device; and (iii) signal strength relating to WiFi or Bluetooth functionality, temperature, battery level, and similar technical data.
We may collect this information even if you are not logged in to the application. iOS users can disable Location Information via device Settings → Privacy → Location Services. Android users can disable Bluetooth and Location in device Settings.
How We Use the Information We Collect
We use the information we collect in the following ways:
- For purposes for which you provided the information
- To enhance the operation of our Site and personalize content and advertising
- To troubleshoot and accomplish other administrative tasks
- To analyze our user base and usage trends
- To enforce our Site Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy, comply with applicable law, and cooperate with law enforcement activities
- To provide you with information when you enter participating local venues
Sharing of Your Personal Information
Except as set forth in this Privacy Policy, we will not share your personal information.
We share the information we collect with third-party business partners who commit to comply with applicable laws concerning their usage of the information. Our third-party business partners may use the information to operate and improve their services, provide you with advertisements and information for products and services, and carry out other purposes disclosed to you.
We may share your information in a Business Transfer. As with any other business, we could merge with or be acquired by another company. If this occurs, the successor company would acquire the information we maintain. However, all of your information would remain subject to this Privacy Policy.

You can let us know that you do not wish to receive promotional emails from us when you open an account. You can also opt out at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any promotional email.
Security of Personal Information
We take security seriously and take numerous precautions to protect the security of your personal information. Your personal information resides on a secure server with limited personnel access. We encrypt certain sensitive information using SSL technology.
No data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed 100% secure. As a result, while we employ commercially reasonable security measures, we cannot guarantee the security of any information transmitted to or from our Site.
Links to Other Sites
We may make content or services from other sites available to you from links on our Site. These other sites are not subject to this Privacy Policy. We recommend that you review the privacy policy at each such site.
Miscellaneous Privacy Issues
Children. Minors under the age of 13 may not use our Site. We do not collect or maintain information from anyone known to be under the age of 13, and no part of our Site is designed to attract anyone under the age of 13.
Public Areas. If you disclose personal information in any discussion forums or other public areas on our Site, that information can be read, collected, or used by others. This Privacy Policy does not apply to such information.
California Residents. California law requires that we provide you with a summary of your privacy rights under the California Online Privacy Protection Act. To request information about how we share personal information with third parties for direct marketing purposes, please send a request to the address below labeled "California Customer Choice Notice." Please allow 30 days for a response. There is no charge for this request.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting the revised Privacy Policy on our Site. Your continued use of our Site after the posting of the revised Privacy Policy shall constitute your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
